North West Training Council
North West Training Council (NWTC) was founded in 1963 by local industrialists, a partnership with industry that has continued to be central to the accomplishments of the Organisation and a key strength. Today NWTC currently has 373 engineering apprentices employed in 178 member companies.
During our 53 years of training, NWTC has gained wide-ranging experience in the delivery of national, bespoke and commercial engineering training courses for member employers. These courses have supported the development and progression of employees within the food and drink industry, our partnerships include:-
Danone Nutricia, Trigon Snacks Ltd, Tulip Ltd, Typhoo Tea Ltd, Diageo, Jacobs Bakery, Flavour Fresh Salads, Sun Valley Snacks and most recently Halewood International Ltd and Kraft Heinz.
NWTC’s vocational, further and higher education programmes are delivered at our dedicated training centre. Competent engineering and educational teams successfully deliver and assess our engineering qualifications that now includes the mechatronics and electrotechnical standards.
Our range of engineering workshop include; mechanical maintenance and assembly, mechanical manufacturing, Electrical engineering, programmable logic control (PLC), fabrication & welding, robotics, and electrotechnical installation.
Our technical certificate delivery include BTEC Diploma’s in operations and maintenance engineering (electrical and mechanical), manufacturing engineering (machining and fabrication & welding) and electrical electronic engineering. A substantial number of our apprentice’s progress to our Higher National Certificate courses in General Engineering or Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
Working closely with partners our investment plans scheduled into 2017 include the development of an operational process manufacturing plant for training in the engineering, manufacturing, and processing sectors.
